Posted March 06, 2020 09:24:06 The $7.8 million Victoria Art of Education and Education Tax Credit (VAST) Art Museum is scheduled to open its doors to the public in 2019, and will serve as a hub for the arts in Victoria.
The museum, which is set to open in 2020, will house more than 150 exhibits including a full-size painting, a sculpture and a painting by an Australian artist.
The VAST Art of Tax Credit is a three-year, $2.8 billion investment for education in the city and will also include $1.2 million for the Arts Council Victoria, which helps fund the arts and education projects.
The $4 million museum is the first of its kind in Australia.
The city has a history of supporting the arts, with the Museum of the Australian Museum, the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Art Gallery of Victoria all featuring artwork on the city’s main thoroughfares.
The Art of Health and Welfare (AHW) is set for a grand opening in 2019.
The AHW is a large, interactive, fully integrated exhibition space that features over 30,000 square feet of space, and includes exhibits from the National Museum of Health Sciences, the University of Sydney’s Centre for Integrative Medicine, the Australian Institute of Health Research, the Institute of Education, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
